Rawalpindi: Excise Department Rawalpindi has decided to put the record of property tax online. This decision has been taken to bring an end to corruption during tax recovery. Sources said computerized challan forms will be introduced for this purpose. Property tax along with the computerized challan form will have to be submitted in the bank. The computerized challan form will have name of property owner, property number and tax rate and the amount to be paid in bank. Under the new system, the customers will have to deposit the tax amount directly in banks instead of excise department. Earlier, excise inspectors and other officials used to issue printed challan forms of tax to the property owners. Sources said that the whole process will be monitored.
