The Punjab government has provided national savings certificates worth Rs 7.5 million as financial compensation to the widow of slain lawyer Rana Khalid Abbas.

EDO (Finance) Shuja Qutab gave the national savings certificates to the grieved family of the lawyer during a special ceremony held at the office of Assistant Commissioner Daska. AC Suhail Akhtar and senior lawyers were also present.

On th eoccasion, Akhtar said that the Punjab government had also promised a government job to the lawyer’s widow.

Earlier, the Punjab government provided a house worth Rs5 million as compensation to the grieved family of the other slain lawyer Muhammad Irfan Chohan of Daska and Rs0.2 million to the three other injured persons.

They were gunned down by accused police inspector Shehzad Warraich during a clash in front of the main gate of this police station on May 25, 2015.
