KARACHI - The man, who was killed and the one who had fled in an ‘encounter’ with police near Jamali Pull at Super Highway have turned out to be father and son on Tuesday.

Police said father, who was killed in the shootout, was identified as Ahmed Deen while raids were being carried out to arrest his son. It further said both of them belonged to Shikarpur, and were security guards at a private security company.

One person was killed while the other managed to escape in the alleged encounter while two cops had also received injuries.

Police further said that fingerprints of the citizen, whom dacoits had shot dead on offering resistance prior to an ‘encounter’, had been obtained to ascertain his identity. “Case of citizen’s murder at the hands of dacoits has been registered at Sohrab Goth police station, while the second case has been lodged at Sachal police station under the attempted murder and anti-terrorism clauses, and the third one under the clauses dealing with the recovery of unlicensed arms from the dacoit,” it concluded.

Rangers arrest two wanted street criminals

Pakistan Rangers Sindh, in a joint intelligence based operation with police, arrested two most wanted street criminals involved in a recent robbery incident at jewelry shop in Jamali Goth area of the megalopolis.  According to a release, Ghulam Sakhi and Rehmatullah alias Lolak, have been robbed 49 tola gold, cash and prize bonds worth Rs1,070,000 on June 18, 2021 and video of the incident had also went viral in social media.

The accused confessed their involvement in number of street crimes in different areas of the city. Raids were being conducted to apprehend their other accomplices.  Accused had been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
