Believers rise

Apparently Malraux was right when he prophesied that the 21st century would either be of religion or, at least, would not be the godless future projected by Francis Fukuyama. In his book titled 'God is Back', J. Micklethwait examines the return of God to societies and politics. He says there is a global surge in religion based on real data such as the increase in pilgrimages, adult catholic confirmations on the old continent; religious controversies in news media and the bountiful creation of church houses all over China. The church attendance is also rising all over. -EVA. N. FERRAZ, Barcelona, Spain, via e-mail, May 25.
