This is with reference to the recent signing of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. Its a very welcome move by the government which would have a very positive impact on the economy of the country in the coming years. One should, though, give credit where due. The negotiations on Iran-Pakistan pipeline were actually initiated by the Musharraf government and all pre-requisites were fulfilled and technical details finalized during his era. Only the final price was negotiated by the present government. The PPP leadership should show large-heartedness by accepting this reality and should tell people who deserved the credit for this pipeline. -DR FAREEHA KHANUM, Mardan, via e-mail, May 26.
