Arrest of OGDCL officials real kidnappers demanded

KARAK - Khattak tribe has expressed dissatisfaction over the investigations of the released OGDCL official and has demanded the immediate arrest of the real kidnappers. The tribe will also hold a protest meeting at Shaheedan against the non-arrest of the kidnappers. This demand came in a meeting of the elders of Chountra held here on Sunday at the hometown Shaheedan of the recently released Chief Metroelogist of OGDCL Rahmatullah Khattak from the captivity of the kidnappers and the elders showed complete dissatisfaction over the so far investigations carried out by the SSP (Investigation) Kohat through investigation officer Saifullah. They alleged that the Kohat police were deliberately changing the direction of the investigations in wrong side just to provide security to the real culprits and said that the change of the investigation officer was an alarming sign. Addressing the meeting, the former district Naib Nazim and existing district bar association president advocate Jan Alam said that the entire government machinery was well aware that who were involved in the kidnapping of the OGDCL official and alleged that the Kohat and Karak police were involved in the kidnapping. He recalled that the kidnapping of Rahmatullah was not the first incident of kidnapping from the areas and informed that some time ago the two officials of OGDCL had also been kidnapped from the Kohat district who had been allegedly released on ransom. The district bar president said that the Karak and Kohat districts were rich in oil and gas resources and the OGDCL was playing a very pivotal role in the development of the areas but the kidnapping of the its officials was a very profile incident and it should be taken serious. He underlined the need that such incidents should not be occurred in future and added for stopping such incidents in future the investigations of the Rahmatullah kidnapping case should be put on right direction. He categorically stated that expectations of transparent investigations from the SSP Attequllah Wazeer was not possible as his involvement with the kidnappers show his links with the militants. He said that the culprits involved in the kidnapping of the OGDCL how might be influential should be brought to the justice without any delay and he also showed deep concerns over the involvement of some local people in the kidnapping of the company official. The meeting demanded that all those involved in the kidnapping of Rahmatullah should be disclosed by the police and those local people who were found guilty their houses should be set on fire as they were involved in inhuman activities. Former district Councillor Shafeer Khattak on the occasion said that 50 percent investigations had been completed by the statements of the kidnapped official and the remaining 50 percent investigations should be completed by the police in right direction as some of names of the kidnapers had been revealed by the arrested kidnapper Raham Daraz. He criticised the investigation officer Saifullah for putting the investigation in wrong direction to provide security to the real culprits. He cautioned if the real culprits were not brought to justice then it would become a routine job and nobody would be secured in the district. After discussion it was unanimously decided that on Monday (today) a protest meeting would be held at Shaheedan and the people of entire Chountra would participate in the meeting to press the government for the arrest of the real culprits.
