LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Population Welfare, Neelam Jabbar Ch has said that federal budget 2010-11 is balanced one in which employees salaries as well as pension have been increased at a time when country is facing economic problems. She said that huge funds have been earmarked for uplift of social sector under which basic facilities like electricity, gas and potable water would be provided in the less developed areas. The Minister said that Punjab budget would also open new vistas of real development in the province and would reflect pro-poor initiatives and commitment with the people. While talking to various delegations at her residence, the Minister said that Punjab government would also take steps to trim down poverty ratio and generate new job opportunities especially in less developed areas of the province. The tax net base is needed to be broadened so that maximum resources could be obtained for the development, however, tax-net would be expanded on resourceful segment of society, she concluded.
