Outgoing RPO eulogises Rawalpindi police

RAWALPINDI - Newly appointed Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen said that police have been confronting terrorists heroically and scores of Jawans had sacrificed their precious lives for the safety of public as well as country so far. All out efforts would be made to bring peace and wipe out the menace of terrorism from Lahore. During my tenure in Rawalpindi Region, there was inclusive cooperation between district administration, police and other law enforcement agencies which helped tackling terrorism successfully and bring peace in the city. He said this while addressing a ceremony of Bara Khana held at Police Lines hosted by Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan who replaced him as Regional Police Officer (RPO). The ceremony was also attended by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Zahid Saeed, DPO Chakwal Sabir Ahmed, DPO Jhelum Dr Azam, DPO Attock Fakhar Sultan, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr Akhter Abbas, SSP Yasin Farooq, SP Range Traffic Ch Muhammad Baqir, SPs Abid Shah, Ishtiaq Shah, Sultan Mehmood Chader, Mirza Tahir Sikandar, Zarahat Kiyani, Tahir Alam, PML-N member of national and provincial assemblies and many other police officers. CCPO Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen said that Rawalpindi police did a lot for the security of the citizens and decreasing crime rate from the region adding that cooperation between police and general public was imperative to tackle with anti social elements. Newly appointed RPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan paid a glowing tribute to CCPO Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen for his services in Rawalpindi Region. He said that during his (Aslam) tenure police achieved many goals and brought peace in the city. He that former RPO played a pivotal role for the betterment of Rawalpindi police and this would be remembered for long. RPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan presented shield and souvenir to CCPO Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen on the behalf of Rawalpindi police.
