LAHORE - The outgoing caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi on Thursday said that his two months’ in office were memorable during which he learnt a lot. He said that caretaker government discharged its responsibility of conducting elections in an efficient manner and worked within its mandate. He said that government officers also worked tirelessly to ensure transparent and peaceful elections and their cooperation has been commendable.

He was addressing a farewell function in honour of officers of Chief Minister’s Secretariat where Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shahid Mehmood, Secretary Information Amjad Hussain, Additional Secretary Admn Abdul Qayyum, Deputy Secretaries of Chief Minister’s House and other officers were present.

Sethi said that understanding and administrating 42 government departments during a short period of two months was not an easy job but the Principal Secretary and other officers extended him all out cooperation.

He advised the officers to work with honesty, hard work and commitment and play a role in solving problems. He said that after serving as caretaker chief minister, he has realised that it is easier to criticize than to handle government affairs.  Sethi further said that his experience as caretaker chief minister has been memorable and no scandal of caretaker government had come to surface thanks to the Almighty.
