WHANGAREI: A man in New Zealand has chosen to serve the rest of his sentence in prison after telling authorities that he was “sick of playing Xbox” at home.

The convict in Whangarei had one month remaining in his 11-month home detention term when he asked police if he could be locked up in jail instead, reports The Northern Advocate.

Senior Constable Paul Nicholas said that the man had “run out of Xbox games to play”.

The 19-year-old’s request was granted, and he is now staying in Ngawha Prison.

Another man back in April smashed his Xbox 360 console with an axe after being outraged by a Microsoft employee’s always-online comments.

Although Microsoft’s new Xbox One system won’t require an always-on internet connection, it will need to be online once a day.–DS
