Shab-e-Meraj was observed across the country with traditional religious and spiritual devotion. The mosques, shrines and streets were specially decorated and illuminated in the memory of Shab-e-Meraj. Special prayers were offered all night in mosques and at homes to seek the blessings of the Almighty. The believers asked for special blessings from the Almighty.  Shab-e-Meraj is a night marking the Meraj of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) when he was taken from Makkah to Al-Haram-Al-Sharif, inside Al-Aqsa Mosque (also known as the Temple Mount) and was then taken to heavens.  Various Islamic scholars shed light on the importance of the day and its blessings in religious sessions. Different Islamic organisations arranged special prayers and Mahafil-e-Naat in mosques.
