SRINAGAR- A day after a Kashmiri student was beaten up at a local educational institute of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, four Kashmiri
students were expelled from their hostel.
The students, identified as, Peer Umair, Bilal Ahmad, Adil Nabi and Dilawar Javid, were told by the college authorities to vacate the hostel. The students were pursuing BBA and B Tech degrees at H R Institute of Engineering and Technology. “Yes, the students have been asked to leave the hostel,” Anil Tyagi, Chief Warden of the college stated, while speaking to the media. “Their removal was recommended by the official committee which was assigned to investigate the matter,” he added.
He refused to comment why the students were expelled. "The committee recommended and it had to be done,” he further remarked. One of the students, Javid told Srinagar-based media via phone that authorities should have punished the local senior students instead of throwing them out.
