LAHORE - Punjab Young Doctors Association has relieved Dr Javed Aheer from the President slot, constituting interim set up till elections to be held on September 1.
Addressing a press conference at Services Hospital on Friday, YDA Punjab spokesman Dr Amer Bandesha said that Dr Aheer has been relieved from the responsibility on his own request as he wanted to focus on FCPS examination. Nominated acting president Dr Mian Ajmal, Dr Khurram Shahzad, Dr Adnan Gondal and Dr Farhan Sahi were also present. Giving details of decisions taken at General Council meeting held a couple of days back at Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Dr Amer Bandesha said that Punjab Healthcare Convention would be convened at Mayo Hospital on June 12 for discussing the prevailing situation and future line of action.
He said that the YDA could go for the option of roadside protest or strike at OPD if the government did not fulfill its promise of adjusting PPSC selected MOs/WMOs already doing post graduation, increasing paid seats of PG trainees, foolproof security at hospitals and implementation of service structure.
