Yasin Malik sent to jail on judicial remand till June, 11

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, a TADA Court in Srinagar has remanded the illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, to custody till June 11.

Muhammad Yasin Malik was produced before the court on Monday, Kashmir Media Service reported. He himself pleaded his case in the court, said a statement issued by a JKLF spokesman in Srinagar. In his statement in the court, Yasin Malik questioned why a murderous attack was carried out by police on him, his family and his locality and why police and Special Operation Group personnel raided his house during night, tortured his old mother, ailing sister and other elders in Maisuma area of Srinagar.

He told the court that this hooliganism by police was meant to scare him and his family and locals of Maisuma.

Yasin Malik has been booked in a 29-year-old case in which Syed Ali Gilani, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone Shaheed, Qazi Nisar Shaheed, Ghulam Muhammad Shah and many others were also named as the accused.

According to the court order, Muhammad Yasin Malik would remain at central jail in Srinagar till 11 June.
