Police arrest four accused in robbery, recover weapons

ISLAMABAD - Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) Friday arrested four dacoity suspects involved in robbery and incidents of vehicle-snatching recovering a car, a Kalashnikov, two pistols along with twenty rounds from their possession. According to details, SP Investigation Sajid Kiani tasked In-charge ACLC Inspector Khalid Masood Akram to arrest the criminals involved in the heinous crimes. On the direction of SP, he formed a team and started hunt. The team established a check post at Fateh Jang Road and started checking of vehicles at the exit points of Islamabad. During the checking, the team signalled a car bearing registration no. LXN-2162 Toyota Corolla but the driver sped way. The team chased the vehicle and after half an hour succeeded in stopping the car. The accused tried to escape but the team overpowered them. On search of the vehicle, one Kalashnikov, two pistols and 20 cartridges were recovered. During initial investigation, the accused confessed that they were going to commit dacoity at Fateh Jang Road. They further disclosed commission of various offences of dacoity and car snatching in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The accused are Fazal ur Rehman, Muhamad Arshad and Muhammad Nazir. Cases have been registered against the above accused in PS Tarnol and obtained three days physical remand from the court. Further investigation is under way.
