NOOR PUR THAL - A large number of adhoc teachers and employees along with students of the Vocational Training Institute (VTI), Noor Pur Thal took to roads to resent the non-provision of announced benefits to them here the other day.
The teachers said that the institution was established 11 years ago and they were serving without proper service structure and they were still serving on contract basis.
Being a government institution, the employees were not getting benefits of inflation allowances and annual increments despite the government orders in this regard. Besides this, there was no promotion scale formula. Similarly, the employees were deprived of facilities like old age benefit scheme and pension. They demanded the Punjab government to fulfill their charter of demand. They warned the government if their demand would not accept, the employees would be forced to adopt a strategy, which include boycott of classes. Hungry strike camps would also be set up to get the issues resolved, they added.
On the occasion, while addressing the protesters, PTI Lawyers Forum President Malik Shafqat Hussain Gujar said the regularization of the adhoc staff was their basic right. The PTI will provide legal help in this connection.
