Rangers arrest smuggler in Wagha sector, recover liquor

LAHORE - Punjab Rangers during an operation against smugglers in Wagha sector on Thursday arrested an alleged smuggler and recovered 48 bottles of Indian liquor from his possession, said a spokesman of the Rangers.
He said Rangers Jawans were on routine patrolling when they observed suspicious movement along the Pakistan-India border near Wagha sector.
It merits mentioning here that Rangers authorities had already received secret information that some smugglers would enter in Pakistani territory from Indian side. So Rangers were vigilant. On the day of incident, they observed some suspicious movements and challenged the smugglers and resultantly a smuggler was arrested. The Rangers also recovered 48 bottles of Indian liquor from his possession. Rangers spokesman said investigation was underway.
Two held for traveling on fake docs: FIA immigration authorities on Thursday arrested two passengers trying to board international flights against fake travel documents, said an FIA officer.
He said passengers Muhammad Waseem and Salahuddin, resident of Sabzazaar Lahore were arrested during immigration process. Both the passengers were trying to board a Qatar Airlines flight QR-621 on fake Turkish visa. Passengers were offloaded and sent to Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) for further action.  The passengers were facilitated by a travel agent Faisal, a resident of Faisalabad.
