Media role for awareness highlighted

DCO Javed Akhtar Mehmood has said that journalism is a very noble profession and electronic media can impact public opinion in a significant manner. The national integration and cohesion is indeed a serious issue which needs to be analyzed. The media’s extraordinary growth can impact the problem as it is being considered as a fourth pillar of the state.
He expressed these views while addressing oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected office-bearers on the press club here the other day.
MPA Mian Naved Ali, Dewan Azmat,former MPA Muhammad Chishti, TMA Additional Collector/Administrator Syed Noman Masood, Govt Postgraduate College Principal Rana Tariq aziz, Muhammad Jameel Fareedi and MD Butt attended  the ceremony.
He said that “the electronic media has touched every sphere of the human aspect. In the present times, information and technology are interwoven with the society’s economic progress. The evolution of electronic media has had an overwhelming impact on the society.”
Later, he took oath from the newly elected office bearers of the Pakpattan Press Club
Addressing on the occasion, Press Club Ch President Abdul Arham Wahid said that the members of the Press Club would pay their role in the development of the district.  25 TEACHERS PROMOTED: The District Promotion Committee has promoted 25 EST teachers from BS-14 to 16 as SST including 11 female teachers here the other day.
DCO Javed Akhtar Mehmood chaired the meeting while EDO Education AbdulMateen also attended it. The DCO also promoted two senior clerks as Assistant in BS 14.
