Pakistan’s political leadership looks confused about giving away constitutional status to Gilgit Baltistan, a territory suspended between the two arch rivals for the last 69 years. The reason is that our country succumbs to the indirect pressure of India which threatens to automatically usurp the present Indian Occupied Kashmir In case Pakistan makes GB its fifth province.
I don’t find even an aorta of sense in the above argument. Indian has no legal, ethical and constitutional grounds to materialize such a nefarious design. Pakistan needs to take up the case of GB in United Nations in order to resolve the long outstanding issue through plebiscite, the only legitimate means acceptable to the masses of region besides being in line with the charter / resolution of United Nations.
The game changer mega project (CPEC) has rekindled the hopes of the masses of GB. It is imperative that by taking an advantage out of this opportunity Pakistan should expedite the case in question and move forward to bring the most patriot three million GBians citizens into the mainstream without any further delay.
