LAHORE The prolonged power breakdowns has not only badly hit the business community but it is also forcing the sportsmen away from healthy atmosphere. Model Town Football Academy (MTFA)s President Mian Rizwan Ali and the residents of the Model Town have appealed to Government of Punjab, Chief Secretary Punjab, DCO Lahore and President Model Town Cooperative Society to allow youngsters to play football in the night as due to scorching heat the training session/matches are not possible in the day. The WAPDA officials have asked the MTFA to close their generators also after 8 pm while the peak hours for the training sessions of the club and academy are from 8 to 10 pm. They strongly criticised WAPDA for such a long power breakdown. The government issued a notification about the closure of markets and shops at 8 pm in line with the energy conservation plan announced by the federal government but their notification is not valid for power supply through generators in sports grounds.
