LAHORE - Interior Ministry has asked FIA Lahore to probe into the case of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) wherein there is a controversy over the sale of 307 kanals of gurdwara land to DHA Lahore. FIA demanded concerned record from ETPB but its management has said that they were already clarifying their position before Public Accounts Committee and the record would be submitted after it. Director FIA Lahore has submitted report to the Director General FIA in accordance with the response of ETPB management. It is worth mentioning here that an office-bearer of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sardar Sham Singh had alleged in the recent past while addressing a Press conference that an additional secretary of the Pakistan Evacuee Trust Property Board was involved in the deal. Sham Singh denied his involvement in the alleged sale of the gurdwara land to the Defence Housing Authority, and said his name and picture had been published in some recent newspaper advertisements to clarify the ETPB position in this regard without his knowledge and permission. Singh was of the view that a group in the ETPB, which led by an additional secretary was selling the land of gurdwaras in Pakistan without any hindrance. This group was also working against the ETPB chairman because he was objecting to such deals and was conducting inquiries into some of them.
