ISLAMABAD The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of FIA probing into Benazir Bhuttos assassination is likely to record statements of Peoples Students Federation (PSF)s office bearers, who earlier had filed an application for lodging an FIR against Pervez Musharraf. These three office bearers of PSF along with other five workers had filed an application before the SHO of City Police Station, Rawalpindi for registration of an FIR against General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and his associates on April 19, 2010. The JIT had already dispatched letters to Sagheer Shah, General Secretary, PSF Punjab; Ayaz Pappu, Divisional President, Rawalpindi and Khurram Kayani, District President, Rawalpindi, in which they were asked to come to the office of FIA on Friday (today) along with relevant evidence in support of their contentions. All these eight PSF workers were the eyewitnesses of the incident in which Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. The sources close to the JIT said that the investigation team would also summon the other five persons including Syed Fida Abbas, Raja Mohsin, Hafiz Naeem, Irfan and Tamoor to record their statements in this connection as soon as possible. Among these workers, Syed Fida Abbas and Ayaz Pappu were also among the critically injured in the suicide bomb attack at Liaquat Bagh. The JIT has decided to link the application of these PSF workers with original FIR NO. 471/2007 dated 27-12-2007 of City Police Station, Rawalpindi. regarding. the assassinations of Benazir Bhutto and 23 others, the sources added.
