LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Thursday issued notices for May 17 to the secretary petroleum and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited on a petition challenging the decision of CNG loadshedding at filling stations. The court issued notices on a petition filed by Mian Aslam, owner of a CNG station in Faisalabad, through his counsel Khwaja Saeeduz Zafar. The petitioner counsel pleaded CNG loadshedding was in violation of an agreement signed between the petitioner and the government. The counsel contended according to agreements signed between CNG stations and the government, the gas loadshedding could only be carried out in the winter season. The counsel, however, pointed out the agreement possessed by the petitioner bound the government to supply gas to the petitioner for whole year without any interruption. He said the government started gas loadshedding to the petitioner treating him equal to other CNG stations in violation of the said agreement, which was a clear discrimination. The counsel requested the court to direct the government not to treat the petitioner with discrimination and supply him gas on a regular basis.
