LONDON The UK-based Tehreek-e-Kashmir has called upon the international community to play its role for the peaceful settlement of longstanding issue of Jammu and Kashmir. India had never demonstrated its sincerity to resolve the Kashmir dispute peacefully and still trying to silence the voice of Kashmiris for their legitimate right to self-determination, Tehreek-e-Kashmir President Mohammad Ghalib said while addressing two-days fifth Global Discourse on Kashmir held at Brussels. He said recent report compiled and released by the Amnesty International amply proved that India was engaged in genocide and rights of the Kashmiri people were grossly violated. Indian war crimes in Kashmir were a clarion call for the peace loving countries, United Nations and for those who believe in humanity and human dignity. Praising the efforts of Kashmir Centre Brussels and Parliamentary Group on Kashmir in European Parliament that jointly hosted the conference, Ghalib said the world must not overlook the increasingly grave situation in Kashmir. He said around 100,000 Kashmiris had laid their lives for noble cause of freedom from the Indian occupation and international community must feel its responsibility by taking notice of gross human rights violation in occupied Kashmir. He paid glowing tributes to the valiant Kashmiri people for their resistance and steadfastness against Indian brutalities and expressed the optimism that the issue would soon be resolved according to the their aspirations. Ghalib warned if international community continued to allow India in committing brutalities in Kashmir, the freedom loving people would have no option but to resist the foreign occupation with violence. Ghalib said the people of Kashmir were gradually losing hopes for peaceful settlement of Kashmir as no significant trust building measure had been taken by India that provided relief to the people of Kashmir. He strongly condemned the Indian govt for not allowing Gilani, Shabir Shah and pro-freedom Kashmiri leaders to attend the Brussels conference.
