Islamabad - The employees of Islamabad Electrical Supply Company (IESCO) on Wednesday started three-day strike against the proposed privatisation of the company.

Hundreds of workers of Wapda on the call of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union closed the Faisal Avenue at Zero Point for all types of traffic.

Zonal Chairman, All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union, Javed Baloch said in the first phase, three-day strike was being observed in all sections and branches of IESCO.

He said the union would decide about future strategy if their demands were not accepted. Workers were raising slogans against privatisation and protection of their rights.
