PESHAWAR - A least four persons including two lawyers and a teacher were killed in the incidents of target killings in Dera Ismail Khan, while a revenue officer was shot dead in Peshawar at midnight of Thursday and Friday.

Police said unidentified armed men on a motorcycle opened fire in Miryali area of DI Khan, killing a school teacher Mukhtiar Hussain and another person Akhtar Hussain. Shortly after the incident, two lawyers Atif Zaidi and Ali Muntazir, who were travelling on a motorcycle on Gird Road, were shot dead by unknown gunmen.

Police said all these were target killings and the slain persons belonged to Shia community. On the other hand, the lawyers community of DI Khan are observing strike today (Friday) against the killing of their colleagues.

In Peshawar, a revenue assistant, Anwar Zeb son of Mohammad Sadiq was shot dead on Thursday night. Police said Anwar Zeb was travelling home at Dalazak Road when unidentified armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at him.

His driver said that Anwar Zeb had no enmity with any one and last night unknown bike rider attacked him with pistol and shot him dead.

Pahari Polra Police registered FIR under section 302/324/34 of CRPC and started investigation.
