SIALKOT-Hundreds of PTI workers took out a rally in favour of the Islamabad High Court's decision to disqualify PML-N leader Khawaja Asif.

The rally began from Daska city and ended at Jinnah House Sialkot after passing through the main Sialkot-Daska Road and various other inter-city roads in Sialkot.

PTI Central leaders Umer Dar and Usman Dar led the rally. Long queues of the vehicles carrying male and female workers were witnessed in the "thanks-giving" rally taken out between Daska to Sialkot.

Dancing to the loud drumbeats, hundreds of highly charged  workers again came out on the roads to celebrate the disqualification of Sialkot-based PML-N Central Leader Khawaja Asif who is now former foreign minister.

The PTI workers distributed sweets and danced after the recent historical verdict announced by Islamabad High Court regarding disqualification of Khawaja Asif. They also distributed sweets at Jinnah House Sialkot, the headquarter of PTI in Sialkot.

Talking to newsmen, Usman Dar, the political rival of Khawaja Asif, said that his party remained successful to get the people of Sialkot rid of "Sialkot's godfather" after 32 years. He said that now the chapter of "dark politics" of Khawaja Asif's politics has closed for ever.

Usman Dar said that all the credit about Khawaja Asif disqualification goes to PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said that now Khawaja Asif was a national convict. He also saluted the judiciary for announcing the historical verdict.

On April 26, 2018, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) disqualified Khawaja Asif on the writ petition submitted by Usman Dar for having Iqama of United Arab Emirates besides doing job as well as being the foreign minister of Pakistan. Khawaja Asif had concealed the fact in his nomination papers before the 2013 general elections.

Umer Dar welcomed the Islamabad High Court's verdict and termed it historic one and great victory of the truth against corruption. PTI Sialkot leader Arif Ahmed Khawaja said that now the winds of change in Sialkot's political scenario were blowing.

Meanwhile, the PTI workers' convention was held in Hafizabad where the party leaders advised the workers to spread in every nook and corner of the district to muster up public support for the PTI candidates.

They said that the district would be proved fortress of PTI and would emerge victorious in the general elections. Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti reminded the masses that he had not only got district status for Hafizabad but also upgraded the DHQ Hospital.

He also said that he executed network of roads and opened hundreds of schools in the district besides initiating scores of social welfare projects.
