Islamabad - Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Wednesday directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to provide best facilities to overseas Pakistanis in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Chairing a meeting here on the issues pertaining to the registration authority, he warned that no negligence will be tolerated in provision of services to the overseas Pakistanis. He said online facilities should further be promoted on the pattern of E-visa. The minister directed the NADRA and Directorate General of Immigration and Passports to improve facilities for overseas Pakistanis as directed by the PM, said the Ministry of Interior in a statement. The minister also said that employees of Pakistan’s foreign missions abroad would be trained to improve the service delivery. He also said that establishment of NADRA centers at all tehsil headquarters should be ensured this year. During the meeting, the acting Chairman NADRA Brig (Retd) Khalid Latif also briefed the interior minister about the facilities being provided to the overseas Pakistanis. He said that NADRA was issuing 100,000 CNICs daily and was also extending its cooperation to the government in Covid-19 vaccination and Ehsaas Poverty Alleviation Programme. He said that NADRA has registered 70 percent adult population of the country and efforts were under way to registered 100 percent population.
