KARACHI - Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination and leader of the House in senate, Mian Raza Rabbani, has pledged that PPP government would defend the integrity of the country at all costs and leave no stone unturned to bring about an amicable resolution to differences among the four provinces including NFC Award issue through dialogue. He was addressing a welcome rally hosted by PPP Karachi Division workers at the premises of Quaid's Mausoleum on Thursday. Paying rich tribute to PPP founder chairman and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Raza Rabbani said that when Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his brave daughter launched their historic movements against the military dictators Ayub Khan and Ziaul Haq respectively, they had pledged that the PPP would defend every inch of the country. He added that history witnessed that the PPP always played a key role in uniting the people of Pakistan. Rabbani said the first priority of the present PPP government is to resolve differences among the provinces through dialogue rather than using force. He hailed the decision of the government to restore the employees sacked during the previous regimes. He added that an inter-provincial meeting would soon be held to resolve the issue of NFC Award. Earlier, PPP workers accorded a warm welcome to Raza Rabbani on his first arrival in the city after taking oath as federal minister. "Ours is a party of the working class. PPP government has always protected rights of the labourers", Raza Rabbani said while talking to newsmen at the Karachi Airport. He said that PPP would never compromise on the legitimate rights of the masses. "We shall accomplish the mission of party's founder Chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Chairperson Benazir Bhutto", he pledged. He said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had returned from exile to fight for the legitimate rights of oppressed masses of the country. "Being a sincere and brave politician, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life during struggle for the restoration of democracy and fighting for the rights of poor and downtrodden people", he said. Later, Raza Rabbani led a huge rally of PPP workers to Bilawal House where they offered fateha for the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and also laid floral wreaths at the monumental place outside Bilawal House. He also visited the mausoleum of founder of the nation Mohammad Ali Jinnah and offered fateha and laid floral wreath. Federal State Minister Tasneem Qureshi, Advisor to CM Sindh for Media, Waqar Mehdi, and other PPP leaders and workers were also present on the occasion. Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, who is also leader of the House in Senate arrived metropolis after his induction in the Federal Cabinet as Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination. After his arrival, Raza Rabbani led a rally of party workers to the Mazar-e-Quaid to pay homage to the great leader of sub-continent. The Federal Minister also laid floral wreath and offered fateha on Quaid's mausoleum.
