LAHORE - At many as two persons were crushed to death while five others injured in various road accidents in different localities of the City on Friday. According to the details, a 15-year-old youth was hit by a speedy vehicle near Manga By-pass. The locals rushed the injured, unidentified so far, to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. In another incident, a 40-year-old man was crushed to death by a speedy van in Ghalib Market police precincts. The driver, however, managed to flee from the scene. The police have shifted the body to the City mortuary for autopsy. Separately, Imran (20) at The Mall, Iqbal (30) at Jail Road, an unknown 60-year-old man and Faisal (25) in Lower Mall police precincts and another identified youth in Bhatti Gate area sustained critical injuries in road mishaps. They were shifted to the hospitals for treatment by the locals. Three criminals including ringleader of a gang busted Model Town CIA Police Friday claimed to have arrested three dacoits of a notorious gang including its ringleader allegedly involved in various acts of murders, dacoities and vehicles snatching incidents. The police arrested the accused on a tip-off when they were gathered at Shah Jamal Park Ichhra. According to police investigators, police party raided the site under the supervision of Sub Inspector Muhammad Mansha and apprehended the accused including ringleader Saifur Rehman alias Vicky, resident of Township, Arslan Rasheed and Arslan Maqbool of Temple Road. The police also recovered sophisticated weapons, mobile phones, motorcycle, one Suzuki Mehran and Rs0.3 million from their possessions. When contacted SI Muhammad Mansha told the scribe that all the accused were involved in heinous crimes in different localities of the City. The SI further stated that Saifur Rehman has confessed about his multiple acts of crime including murders. The SI further said that now police was raiding various places according to the information divulged by these arrested criminals.
