Another seven killed in violence

KARACHI – As many as seven people were killed in different acts of violence in the metropolis on Tuesday.A worker of the Sunni Tehreek (ST) was gunned down in Bahadurabad Chowrangi area. Identified as Saeed, the victim was sitting at his shop in Al-Madina market, when unidentified attackers appeared on the scene and opened fire on him. Saeed was hit by multiple bullets and died on the spot. The attackers managed to flee, however. The body was shifted to the JMPC for medico-legal formalities, and later handed over to the heirs.Three sack-packed bodies, with hands and legs of the victims tied up wioth ropes, were recovered near Karimabad bridge. Identification of the victims could not be ascertained until the filing of this report. Investigators suspected that unidentified culprits might have killed the three men after taking them captive from somewhere. The bodies were moved to a morgue for identification after postmortem from the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.Separately, two people were gunned down near Crown Cinema in Maripur area. Police officials said that three friends were on their way to buy wine from a shop, when unidentified gunmen tried to abduct them and opened fire on them as they put up resistance. Faizullah, Imran and Farman were fatally wounded and ferried to the Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced Faizullah and Imran as brought dead. Farman was stated to be in critical condition.In Saudabad area, a man shot and killed one Wajahat Iqbal over a personal dispute. According to police officials, Waqas and Wajahat were sitting near their residence, when they had a quarrel over some issue. As Waqas became infuriated, he pulled his pistol at Wajahat and opened three fires on him. He was taken to the JPMC, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
