Farmers burn cotton in protest against low prices


MULTAN  - Hundreds of farmers burnt cotton in front of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) office to register their protest against low prices of cotton. The farmers demanded the government to ensure reasonable raise in the rates of sugarcane, paddy, wheat and cotton. President Pakistan Kissan Ittehad Chaudhry Anwar while addressing the farmers said that low prices of cotton had effected the farmers economically. He lamented that farmers community was being ignored in the country.
