LAHORE - PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi mistakenly stepped in Indian territory on Thursday on his visit to Wagha border.

Qureshi was visiting zero line between Pakistan and India for showing solidarity with the victims of the Wagah Border incident wherein more than 60 peoples were killed. All of a sudden, he stepped in Indian side of the border to shake hand with some Indian citizens on the other side.

A Rangers’ officer made him realise that he had violated something. Later on, while talking to the media, Qureshi said that his party had recommended the name of Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid for the office of Chief Election Commissioner. He said that Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah, in this regard, had sent three names.  Qureshi also paid tributes to the victims of suicide attack and expressed solidarity with their family members.  He was of the view that the entire nation was united for the security of Pakistan. “We will never let our country down,” he said.
