LAHORE  - A 23-year-old youth ended his life after his marriage proposal was rejected by the girl’s parents in Gowalmandi, police sources said on Thursday.
The family told the police that Muhammad Mohsin wanted to tie his knot with the girl of his own choice. But the parents of the girl, also relative of the deceased, rejected his marriage proposal.
On the day of incident, Arif got disillusioned and reached outside the house of the girl, where consumed poisonous pills.
The resident of Katcha Nisbat Road, Mohsin, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced as brought dead. The police handed over the body to the family without autopsy. The deceased was the only son of his old parents and four sisters.
6 injured in gas-cylinder blast
At least six persons wounded when a gas-cylinder exploded at a tea-stall near the Raiwind congregation on Thursday, police and rescue workers said.
The injured were shifted to a local hospital, where the condition of one of the victims was said to be serious.  Police sources said that several people were present at a tea stall when the gas-cylinder exploded.  The powerful blast caused panic in the locality, where hundreds of thousands of people are attending the annual preaching congregation. Police are investigating.
