ISLAMABAD - Member of House of Lords of British Parliament Lord Nazir Ahmed has sought replacement of Maulana Fazlur Rehman as Chairman of Kashmir Committee of the National Assembly to make this committee more effective.

In a statement, Lord Nazir Ahmed said the cause of Kashmiris needs more attention and Pakistan should activate the Kashmir Committee to highlight the rampant human rights violations in the Indian occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhry Barjees Tahir said yesterday that Kashmiris will succeed in their struggle for right to self-determination. In a statement on Sunday, he said the Indian brutal acts and tyrannies will not make the Kashmiris abandon their freedom movement.

Chaudhry Barjees Tahir said the ongoing phase of the freedom movement, which is being spearheaded by local youth, is unprecedented, and will help the Kashmiris achieve their goal.
