MIRPURKHAS - Power supply to most areas of the city and its outskirts was suspended on Sunday morning when four feeders of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) were shut down.

Hesco authorities reportedly shut down feeders like Kishori Lal, industrial and city at 8am. As a result, power supply to Pak Colony, Murtaza Town, Ghosia Colony, Rajar Colony, Siaal Colony, Nawab Colony, Gharibabad, Toorabad, Dholanabad, Newtown, Lalchandabad, Hameedpura Colony, Ishaque Colony, Jamnadas Colony, Station Road, Khisakpura, Naipara, Lalpara and markets and bazaars of the city was suspended. The Civil Hospital had to use a generator to keep the operations going during the power suspension. Small industrial units also remained closed during the power suspension.

A Hesco official told The Nation that the aforementioned feeders were shut down because some work was under way there.

They said that power supply would be restored as soon as the work is done.

It may be recalled that no prior announcement was made about closure of these feeders and the aforementioned areas were without power when this report was filed on Sunday evening.
