HYDERABAD: The Search Committee headed by former Justice (r) Syed Deedar Hussain Shah has reportedly recommended three names to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah for appointment as Vice Chancellor of Sindh University.

A source told APP here Sunday that Karachi University’s Fateh Muhammad Burfat and Sindh University’s Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and Dr Inayatullah Shah had been recommended by the Search Committee for the post of the VC.

The chief minister would select one of the selected professors for the post and he would recommend the Governor to officially notify the appointment, the official source added.

The post of Sindh University’s VC fell vacant after the demise of VC Prof Dr Abida Taherani on June 1. Since her death Prof Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro has been performing the responsibilities as an acting VC.–APP
