KALAT/DERA BUGTI - A police constable was shot dead on Monday when armed miscreants opened fires at a police check post in Kalat.
As per media reports, cop Yar Muhammad Nichari was gunned down by the armed assailants in an attack on Zawo Police Check Post in a hit-and-run offence in Kalat. Later, heavy police teams reached the spot and shifted the body of cop to civil hospital.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Zahid Shah, SP Dostein Dashti and other high officials rushed the civil hospital. The hospital staffers handed over the cadaver after completing medico-legal formalities.
Separately, a landmine, fixed by miscreants for subversive attempt, exploded which left two lawmen hurt in Dera Bugti. The security men were immediately shifted to hospital for first aid from where the hospital sources said the condition of both personnel was out of danger.
Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, in separate messages, condemned the incidents.
They said the unflinching determination of security forces won’t be dithered by such pusillanimous attacks in the province and reiterated to recompense the perpetrators of such attacks into their evil deeds. They extended condolences to the victim families.
