GUJRANWALA/HAFIZABAD/KASUR/ELLAHABAD-Four persons including a woman were killed and 11 others got injured in different fog-triggered incidents here on Monday, police and rescue sources informed.

In Gujranwala, a man died and another injured in collision between a truck and van at Tatli Wali. The deceased was identified as Ashraf. The accident occurred due to low visibility caused by thick smog.

In Hafizabad, five persons were seriously injured in head-on collision between a van and truck on Pindi Bhattian Road near Sadwan Tarar, about 15-km from here. The injured included Abbas, Irshad, Adnan, Faraz Ahmed and Raheem Bakhsh. They were shifted to Hafizabad Trauma Centre. Police impounded the truck and arrested its driver Mahboob Yasin. Investigation is underway.

In Kasur, Aslam and his wife Rasoolan Bibi died after the motorbike he was driving rammed into a donkey-cart near Bhagi Wala, Ellahabad. Another, Rana Qasim Ali, was crushed to death by a car while crossing road near Changa Manga stop. In another incident, an Okara-bound van from Lahore rammed into a trailer. The incident left five passengers including Shamim of Faisalabad with critical injuries. All the incidents occurred due to poor visibility amidst dense fog.
