Wah Cantt - Gen Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi bin Raja Mohamed Noor, Chief of Malaysian Army, along with an official delegation visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) yesterday. On arrival at the POF, the chief of Malaysian army was received by Lt Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M) Chairman POF Board, who introduced him with POF board members.

The chairman POF board in his welcoming remarks told the delegation that POF is the premier defence organization of the country which is not only meeting defence requirement of the armed forces of Pakistan but also exporting its products to more than 30 countries around the globe. The chairman further remarked that Pakistan and Malaysia have been enjoying deep-rooted defence ties since long which need to be further strengthened.

Director Exports Usman Ali Bhatti in his detailed briefing told the delegation that POF is a gigantic complex with 14 factories, 11 subsidiaries and total work force is more than 24,000. POFs industrial base is strong enough to undertake development and production of all most all types of conventional arms and ammunition.

The delegation visited POF product display lounges. The delegation showed keen interest in POF products and ammunition and lauded the high quality of POF products.
