A man who was arrested on October 3rd for allegedly sexually abusing a child has confessed to committing the crime.

Sources in the police department revealed that Gulberg police had arrested Farman for reportedly sexually harassing and threaten to kill the minor girls. According to the FIR registered in the case, Farman would take girls around seven to 13 years of age in quiet streets and sexually harass them.

During the investigation, the accused confessed to the crime and after the confession of the accused, a three-member committee, under the supervision of SP Cantonment, was constituted by the Peshawar police.

The number of child abuse cases around the country, not only Peshawar is on the rise. This alarming situation needs the attention of the government and Prime Minister Imran Khan had previously said that the cases of child abuse will be dealt with and severe punishment would be given to the culprits.
