The NWFP settled areas, and not just FATA areas, have become unsecured for people, especially for journalists who travel a long way for coverage of events here. Many journalists have been killed by the militants here. The most recent killing was that of the Afghan journalist Mr. Jan Ullah who was killed in Khyber Agency while coming back from Afghanistan. These incidents are giving a bad name to the Pakistani government and are also putting our relations with Afghanistan under a strain. I request the Chief Minister and Governor NWFP to ensure better security and better equip the police, FC and other security personnel deployed in the area. -MURAD ALI MOHMAND, Peshawar, via e-mail, August 26.
