ISLAMABAD (APP) - Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) Zamurud Khan has said that PBM fund of Rs.80.2 million is being utilized for the treatment of deserving patients. He said that financial assistance of Rs.0.3 million has been increased to 0.6 million by Pakistan Bait ul Mal for the treatment of patients of chronic diseases. In this regard, the PBM recently distributed cheques among 120 most deserving and needy patients of District Head Quarter Hospital Attock. The grant of Rs 15,000 was distributed among dialysis patients while cheques of Rs. 10,000 were given to other patients. A total of Rs 1.6 million has been granted to the DHQ Hospital Attock so far. Zamurrud Khan told APP that PBM has started a 'Benazir Lungar Programme, under which food is being provided 3 times to 100-150 attendants of the deserving patients at DHQ Hospital Attock daily. In its various projects, PBM will provide two thousand wheel chairs among the Handy capped persons where as 9 thousand wheel chairs had already been provided in last one year. Pakistan Bait ul Mal will also provide tuition fee of the deserving students of schools and colleges as per Rs. 60,000 per student. Meanwhile, the PBM with its Ramazan package was providing relief for poor masses during the holy month of Ramazan. The package comprises flour, dates, cooking oil, sugar etc for each deserving family in view of high prices of sugar and other items. difficulties for the needy in getting flour and essential commodities on subsidized rates with a prime focus on orphans, widows and the vulnerable families who are actually the most deserving segment of the society.
