ISLAMABAD (APP) - Khyber-Pakhunkhwa Minister for Education Sardar Hussain Babak Monday said over 1900 schools had been destroyed due to floods and explosions by the miscreants in the province and their repair and reconstruction would cost Rs5billion. He said the floods damaged 900 schools out of which 226 were totally destroyed in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, private news channel reported. He said more than 50 per cent of the flood victims, who took refuge in schools have returned to their homes. Sardar Hussian Babak further said more than 1000 schools were destroyed as a result of bomb attacks. The repair and reconstruction of schools is estimated to cost Rs5 billion, he said, adding Norway has pledged to contribute Rs 500 million for the purpose.
