Pak releases 141 Indian fishermen

KARACHI The last batch of 141 Indian fishermen was released on Monday that would leave for India via Wagah Border, Lahore. They were detained in the different prisons of Sindh for violating the maritime boundary between Pakistan-India. It was the last batch of the 442 fishermen. Representatives of civil society were present to see off the Indian fishermen included, B M Kutty, Secretary Pakistan Peace Coalition, Saeed Baloch, Sami Memon, Kamal Shah and Yusuf Gadani, senior members and activists of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, Mohammad Usman of International Union of Food Workers and Allied Workers Union, Zulfiqar Shah and Sharafat Ali, Joint Director and Manager Advocacy respectively of the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER). The 442 detained fishermen were released following the Supreme Courts orders on a petition filed by the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER) and the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF).
