LAHORE - Keeping in view the severe hardships of the flood affectees, an amount of Rs 0.3 million should be given to each flood-hit family, as proposal of assistance of Rs 0.1 million for each disaster-hit family will be just like 'peanuts, demands Dr Waseem Akhtar, JI Ameer Punjab. He made this demand while talking to various public delegations at Mansoora on Monday. He claimed that government was not taking sufficient medical steps in the flood-affected areas, as several epidemic diseases have broken out in the flood-hit areas. The JI leader warned that there would be a revolution if the 20 million disaster-hit people marched towards the streets of the various cities and the government must take immediate relief and rehabilitation measures to halt a revolution. He proposed that it was not possible for the government to overcome the challenge of the flood affected areas alone and it should make coordinated efforts with non-official organizations for the relief and rehabilitation activities.
