KARACHI - At least five people were killed in different incidents of violence and mishaps in the metropolitan here on Monday. An activist of banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) was killed in the remits of Brigade police station. Police said the deceased later identified as Ghayas Uddin, son of Imam Bux, resident of Lines Area, was coming back to home after dropping his children at a school. When he reached near CDGK parking Plaza, some unidentified armed men intercepted him and opened indiscriminate firing on him. As a result, he died on the spot. Police shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities. Following the incident, the large number of associates of SSP came on road, set tyres on fire and chanted slogan against the government. Meanwhile a two-year child was electrocuted when he touched a broken wire near a flood relief camp. Police said the incident occurred when the victim Yaseen, son of Rasool Bux was playing with other children outside the camp adding that the was among the families of flood victim belonged to interior Sindh. The body of the victim was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later handed over heirs for burial rituals. In another incident, Risala police found body of an unidentified 56-year-old drug addict from drainage nullah near Bhempura Area. The body was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi. In another incident, a 60 year-old unknown man was crushed to death when he was crossing a road near Malir 15 in the limits of Saudabad police station. The body was moved to Jinnah postgraduate Medical center for legal formalities and later shifted to Edhi mortuary for identification. Meanwhile, a milk seller was gunned down near Malir Tanki stop in the limits of Saudabad police station on Monday. Police said the victim 50 year-old Asghar Mayo was sitting in his milk shop when two unidentified armed men reached there and open indiscriminate firing on him and killed him on the spot. Police believed that personal enmity was behind the incident. Police registered an FIR against unidentified person on the complaint of victims son Shabbir and initiated the probe.
