Vehicle-lifting gang ringleader held

LAHORE - CIA Police Iqbal Town division claimed to have arrested a criminal ringleader of a notorious car lifter gang and has recovered six cars worth more than Rs 7.1 millions, one pistol and bullets from his possession. The accused has confessed a number of incidents of car stealing in the provincial metropolis. The accused identified as Mohammad Gawash Butt, resident of 297-Fancy Park, Lyton Road. The criminal is history-sheeter and a number of cases have also been traced against him in Defence B, Shafiqabad, Muslim Town, Johar Town, Shafiqabad, Gulberg, Sattokatla, South Cantt, Gowalmandi, Qilla Gujjar Singh, Civil Lines, Icchra, Old Anarkali and Shadman. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Aslam Tareen has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team. The other members of the police team are Sub-Inspector Naseem Sarwar, ASI Ghulam Shabbir, Head Constable Naseer Ahmed, Allah Ditta, Constable Muhammad Sajid and Muhammad Mansha.
