President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he doesn’t intend to become prime minister of Pakistan because he thinks presidential slot should be an optimum position for any politician.

In an interview with private TV channel, Zardari said that strengthening the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was the most important task than premiership.

“I am not coming to observe congregation of friends but joining the party to organize it”, he mentioned.

Talking about 18th constitutional amendment, he said those provinces were given rights through this amendment as the same rights were given in India after massive bloodshed.

“The party had difference over bestowing 58-2B to the Prime Minister”, Zardari said.

Upon a question about his imprisonment, the outgoing President said; “I learnt patience during my 11-year solitary confinement as jail starts to test your nerves after two initial years in detention.

He added that he would suggest retirement to old party workers and will encourage youngsters to join, adding he claimed that PPP would re-rise as the biggest party of the country soon.

“Bilawal will contest next general elections”, Asif Ali Zardari mentioned.

Answering another question, Asif Ali Zardari said that he used to watch foreign TV channels during his imprisonment to keep him up to date as well as writing his thoughts.

He said that the letters and poetry he had written to his wife Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed were now in possession of his children.

“I had lost every thing before entering into President House”, Zardari said regretfully.
