PESHAWAR - As many as seven people, including five police personnel, were injured in a bomb blast near Peshawar's Hashtnagri Police Station on Friday.

According to police, the explosive materials were fixed in a motorcycle, which  was parked inside the police station. They said the motorcycle was taken into custody for having incomplete registration 15 minutes before it blew up.

Police said that seven people, including five police personnel and two civilians, were injured in the bomb blast. He said that they were investigating that how the motorbike entered into police station. The injured people were taken to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. Contingents of security forces have also been dispatched to off the site.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police during August has foiled many terror incidents through proactive policing.

According to details under the directives of Inspector General of Police Ihsan Ghani, the district police and Bomb Disposal Unit through out the province during last month has accelerated its activities against terrorists and gave tough time to them. During different raids various terrorist attempts were foiled successfully and saved many precious human lives.

Police recovered one suicide jacket, three hand grenades, two rocket launchers, four prima cords and one kilogram explosive material. During this period, two terrorists were also killed while seven police jawans martyred and 16 got injuries. The BDU also exhibited excellent performance and successfully defused 20 Improvise Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The targeted operation against the terrorists and saboteurs is still continued and police is achieving success against them.
